I love the mind of an almost 3-year-old.

This afternoon I told Blaine that if he wasn't going to have a nap today he would need to stay extra cheerful. His reply: "I'm wasting no time for naps today!"

After that he pulled a bar stool up to the counter and we made chocolate chip cookie dough together (lots of snitching was involved). Then he peed his cozy red fleece pants while he was splashing around in some soapy water I made for him in the kitchen sink.

After that he acted out several scenarios involving Thomas the Train and Cranky the Crane (Blaine plays both parts--he's quite a versatile performer), pushed around a laundry basket "car," had the time of his life in his sandbox (Brrr!), and rolled on the ground loving up his mother but refused a smooch ("monsters don't smooch!").

All in an afternoon for the Blaine. But definitely no time for naps.
