With my British-Canadian heritage, I was raised on soft-boiled eggs, served in the most charming of all dishes--the egg cup. I mention it now because this is the time to find yourself some darling egg cups--in the post-Easter sales.
This is Blaine's (and my) favorite way to eat an egg. Here's how you make it:
Bring water to boil in a pot
Gently set the eggs in the pot
Set your timer for 3 minutes
Pull the eggs out
Scoop the top off with a spoon
Dip your toast strips (called "toy soldiers) in and enjoy!
It can be a little messy, but it's the most fun!
And if you don't like runny yolks, well, I don't know what to tell ya. (And I hope we can still be friends!)

yum...I remember the first time I ate this was at your house when I was little. I LOVED it. I came home and told my mom all about it. I was pretty sure that your mom had invented toast soldiers.
I couldn't agree more, you can never have enough dishes, including these little gems.....which is why I adore the four that you and Rozie so kindly gave me!
Those little cups are adorable. It almost makes me want to eat a soft boiled egg. I'll just take your word on how good they are though and hope we can still be friends.
I love these comments. I laughed at Sally's, because Roger thinks this British way of eating soft-boiled eggs is barbaric!
