Dear Da-Da

Guest Blogger: Blaine Tanner Cropper, age 13.5 months
Dear Dad,
You are a great dad. Here are some little things that you do for me that I couldn't live without:

10. You make the best baby food. Gerber doesn't hold a candle to the delicious veggies and meat that you so lovingly cook, puree, and freeze for me.

9. You are not lazy like Mom. Most nights that I happen to wake up, you come rescue me and give me some milk and some love so that I can go back to sleep.

8. You taught me baby signs. Again, Mom is a little lazy sometimes, and didn't reinforce the signs when she was feeding me. You, on the other hand, are very patient, and wouldn't give me food when I whined. You taught me how to say "please" and "more" and "all done" and now I am so much more happy and pleasant to be around.

7. You are so fun! You read to me, take me for walks, take me outside to play, throw and kick my green rubber ball with me, help me build with blocks, tickle me with your whiskers, and toss me all around. It's so fun to be with you, Dad!
6. You are very patient with me. You never raise your voice or even look upset with me. Even when I do things like whine all day or eat dirt or hit you in the face (and laugh about it) or pee on the carpet or smash banana all over my shirt, my hair, my high chair, and my toys.
5. You give Mom a lot of help, which makes her feel like she can handle having more babies.

4. You make Mom feel strong, which makes her feel like she can handle having more babies.

3. You treat Mom like a principessa (you have since she was 17). That's how I'm learning to be a thoughtful and sweet gentleman.

2. You hold me and hug me and kiss me and snuggle with me. That's how I'm learning to show love.

1. You set the example of prayer and reading the scriptures and following God's commandments. That's how I'm learning to be like Jesus.

Now Dad, for your present: Mom and I went on a stealth mission yesterday to get your present, but we were too late. Borders was all out. Soon arriving from Amazon...this book:

Dad, Henry Miller said that "every genuine boy is a rebel and an anarch." I need you to study this book so you can teach me how to be a B-O-Y! So, from this May-Day-Man to my Bastille-Day-Boy, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! I LOVE YOU!

Love,
Blaine
