J. K. Rowling is My Hero

Sorry for the late post. My computer's having a rough week.

Well, once again, Sarah rocked Trivial Tuesday. She knows her stuff, people! Barb also worked it. Congrats to her! Too bad I'm not cool enough to have giveaways like DesignMom. Wouldn't that be fabulous if I could award prizes every week?!

Anyway, yes, Will Smith was the latter half of "DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince." Don't worry--I had their cassette tape and loved listening to "Parents Just Don't Understand." They were early on the rap scene--contemporaries of groups like Run DMC. Of course he continued as the Fresh Prince on his hit show--which we all know and love. He met his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith on that show. He has one older son, Trey (who was the cute little guy in the video of "Just the Two of Us"), from a previous marriage. He and Jada have two children together--Jaden (who starred with him in The Pursuit of Happyness) and Willow. Willow was 1 1/2 when Will and Jada were at the Oscars in 2002. Will wasn't there when they read his name as a best-actor nominee (for playing Muhammad Ali in Ali) because they had gotten word that Willow had an ear infection and a 103 degree fever. (Come ON! How much do you love these people?!) Will was also nominated for best actor this year, for playing Chris Gardner in The Pursuit of Happyness, which happens to be my favorite of his movies thus far.

As for this week's trivia. As I'm sure you know, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (the fifth installment) comes out in theaters tomorrow! How excited are you on a scale of 1-10?! I'm at about a 32. We spent the weekend up at Grandma Tillie's. She has mega-cable compared to my 8 channels. ABC Family was playing the first three Harry Potter movies and I was loving it. During commercial breaks I was reading Harry Potter 6. Ridiculous, I know. And I love it! So let's see how well you know the stars of the HP movies...

1. This actress plays the crazy divination teacher, Sybil Trelawny, in the HP movies. She's also been in a recent movie with Will Ferrell and was nominated for an Oscar in 1995 for her performance in Sense and Sensibility. Who is she?

2. This actress plays an evil witch names Bellatrix Lestrange in HP 5. She also appeared in Big Fish with Ewan McGregor, played Mrs. Bucket in the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and is the voice of Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. Who is she?

3. This actor played the gaggy Gilderoy Lockhart in HP2. He is in several movies based on Shakespeare's plays, including Hamlet and Much Ado About Nothing. Who is he?

4. This actor plays Lord Voldemort (can you believe I said it?!) in the HP movies. He starred in the 1996 Oscar-winning film, The English Patient and Maid in Manhattan with Jennifer Lopez. His brother, Joseph, played the title character in Shakespeare in Love. Who is he?

5. Oh and seriously, how excited are you on a scale of 1-10?!

4)Ralph Fiennes
5) at least 100. Last time, I actually got locked into the Medford Barnes and Noble to get my hands on one of the first copies of #6. Not having thought it through, by the time I got home at 2am, I needed to sleep. Sigh...

Anne: this is my forte, I am way more than obsessed about Harry Potter.
1. Emma Thompson, she is fabulous.
2. Tim Burton's very lovely and talented wife, Helena Bonham Carter
3. Kenneth Branaugh (I am unsure of the spelling) He is too funny as Lockhart
4. Ralph Fiennes, a very good choice for Lord Voldemort, loved him in Quiz Show
5. I am excited for the movie about a 10, but for the book, 105. I just can't wait!!!!!!

Wow, this is like AP Trivial Tuesday. I would've had to look every one of these up. We do like Harry Potter though, and will be seeing the new movie...when it hits the dollar theater, probably.

I'm going to let Doug answer for me here. He's the HP freak at our house. He also re-reads the books to prepare for the new installments! I won't even tell you what he suggested we name the baby if he was born on any number of special HP days!

1. Emma Thompson
2. Helena Bonham Carter
3. Kenneth Branagh (who, by the way, was married to Emma Thompson, and left her for Helena Bonham Carter!)
4. Ralph Fiennes
5. Doug is a 14!

Ha, you are so funny! Do I win if I can imagine the actors' faces in my head, but haven't a clue of any of their names except Emma Thompson who play Prof. Trelawny. Ya, one point for me! Oh, and I can't wait to see the new movie. I'm such a Harry Potter nerd...Harry got me sanely through my first pregnancy, so I'm indebted.

1. Emma Thompson (ahhh Beatrice) - LOVE HER!! I will watch any movie by her. ps I just loved Nanny McPhee! :)
2. Sorry don't know her name but I can see her face.
3. Kenneth Baunau (sp?) (ahhhh Benedict) - LOVE HIM TOO! although he was so obnoxious in #2 he was just playing the part and was PERFECT!
4. Ralph Fines (sp?) - it't kinda weird to have a face to "you know who"
5 Honestly... I love H.P. but I didn't even know the movie was coming out. We don't have TV and I don't see previews, and we haven't seen a movie in like 9 months (is that normal for a new mom or am I weird?) and I have been a little delinquent in my H.P. reading etc. Will you still be my friend Anne?

Just . . . can't . . . help . . . myself! (spelling errors are likely to follow . . .)

1. Emma Thompson
2. Helen Bonham-Carter
3. Kenneth Branaugh
4. Ralph Fiennes
5. Ok, seriously? About a 32 with Anne. But it gives me something I can talk about with my 15-yr-old-nephew, and that's worth any mockery I get!

My 2 older daughters got to see the midnight show last night, but as my husband is at Scout Camp, I had to stay home with the little kiddies and the dog we're dog-sitting. Such bitter disappointment.

I get to be the first one to comment on this post! That NEVER happens. Woohoo!
Ok. Now down to business.
1. Emma Thompson. I LOVED her and Kenneth Branagh (see #3) in Much Ado About Nothing. She is such an amazing actress and has such a cool voice. She's perfect at whatever she does, but I really like her a lot as Trewlany.
2. Helena Bonham Carter.
3. Kenneth Branagh. Like I said before, I'm a huge fan. He's fabulous in my book. I've loved all his Shakespeare roles.
4. Ralph Fiennes plays...shhhhhh...(in a whisper) Lord Whatsisbucket.
5. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'm probably a 17 for the movie coming out and a 1,000,000 that the book is due soon. Just 10 more days! Ahh! I'm such a nerd, I reread all the old books last month, just so I was refreshed on everything that has happened. By the way, my official prediction is that R.A.B. is either R. Amelia Bones (my favorite little theory) or Regalus A. Black (Sirius's little brother). I guess we'll all just have to wait and see...

This is how excited I am...Trav and I actually tried to buy tickets for the 12:01 showing last night, but alas they were sold out and we were not quite ambitious enough for the 12:40 show.

Just for the record I have read all the books and seen all the movies...but I am bad with names so I am afraid I will not do to well on this one. Here goes:

1.Emma Thompson--did you know she also was in a comedy troupe with Hugh Laurie (who I have a little crush on) when they were in college.

2.I loved Big Fish!!!! I think her name is (sp?) Helena Bonam Carter.

3. I have no idea what his name is?

4. I think Ralph Fiennes...I didn't know that his brother was in Shakepeare in Love.

5. Um an 11. (Spinal Tap anyone?)

Hey Anne... So I really do want to get together. We should totally go to the pool. And it would be fun to do dinner sometime too. Our husbands share a love of food! Send me an email: trina129@hotmail.com

1. Emma Thompson.
2. Totally recognize her but don't remember her name. (weak, I know)
3. Kenneth Branagh (a fab actor, I must say)
4. No idea.

OK. so we did as bad as usual. But do we get extra credit for already having seen the movie?? We want to watch Blaine so you guys can go and then we can DISCUSS :)

So I need help. I have just not gotten into this whole HP thing. I didn't read past book 2 but my husband devoured all of the books. I did enjoy the movies, as did little andrew!
