Just for the Record, it's Still Tuesday

But please excuse my tardiness.
I had a ball reading everyone's responses last Tuesday, and was most impressed by the number of you that correctly identified the four actors I alluded to. Kudos to all of you! Just to recap (and to point out the miracles performed by make-up artists)...

#1. Here is the lovely and talented Emma Thompson (who, as Sarah cleverly pointed out, used to be married to #3, Kenneth Branagh).

And here she is as Professor Trelawny.

#2. Here we have Helena Bonham Carter (who, as Katie and Sarah enlightened us, dated Kenneth Branagh after his split from Emma Thompson, and is now married to Tim Burton-who directed her in Big Fish and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, among other things).

And here she is as Bellatrix Lestrange. (I just think all of these people were cast brilliantly!)

#3. Ahh, how we love Kenneth Branagh. Handsome. Fabulous actor...

And perfectly cheese-o-rama as Gilderoy Lockhart.

#4. Ralph Fiennes. Love him.
He makes a very scary Lord Voldemort. I'm tellin' ya--great make-up and acting to make such a handsome man look like this.
And there you have it. Now, for those of you who are not huge Harry Potter people, please indulge me just one more Trivial Tuesday dedicated to J.K. Rowling's series. This is, after all, the big week. Saturday the 21st at midnight I will be holding book 7--Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows--in my hand and I will likely be squealing with delight. (By the way, I'm getting my book at the HP party at the BYU Bookstore. I'm thinking of dressing up. Which blonde should I be- Fleur Delacour or Luna Lovegood? I'm leaning toward Luna.)
Now to the questions: I'm very curious as to what you all think about the many mysteries that are about to be explained. Let's hear your predictions:
1. Do you think J.K. will kill off Harry?
2. J.K. has said that two main characters will die. Who do you think it will be?
3. Will Hogwarts re-open?
4. Will Ron and Hermione end up together?
5. Will Harry and Ginny end up together?
6. Is Snape truly with the order and playing Voldemort, or is he a genuine death-eater who has been playing Dumbledore? (Or, as my friend Jared thinks, do you think he is merely self-serving and will do anything that meets his own needs?)
7. Any other predictions from y'all?

2. Harry and Voldemort
3. eventually, yes
4. I hope so
5. I REALLY hope so
6. I really want to believe that Snape it still good.. I think that he is with the Order
7. Harry is a horcrux and to truly kill off Voldemort Harry will have to die as well.

1. No, I don't think that Harry would have gone through all this growth over the past 6 books, only to be snuffed off merely so no one else can right any more books!
2. If you consider Voldermort a main character than Hagrid and Voldemort. If Voldemort isn't a main character than Snape and Hagrid.
3. Most definitely, Professor Flitwick and other teachers mentioned that It will remain open as long as there are students who are willing to learn there
4. Yes.
5. There is always a hope!
6. I think Snape is self serving, but might make a sacrifice (eg his own life) for Harry.
7. None that I can go into with such short a space.

1.No way. What author kills off her hero? I just don't think she'll do it.
2.I don't know, but I don't think Harry or Voldemort will die.
3.Yes.
4.Maybe -- they're a little young to get married (?) but maybe could be a couple at the end.
5.What, did the Friends writers help with this book? Would it be sort of silly if all of the couples ended up together?
6.Confusing. The extended Lambert family consensus is that he's still good, but acts bad to confuse the baddies.
7.I predict that J.K. has come up with something that all of the crazy internet theorists will be surprised by. What I'm really worried about is that I won't have time to read this book before someone tells me what happens!

1. No, I don't think it will be Harry. Only because how can she market any more Harry Potter stuff, i.e. the new Harry Potter Land at Universal Studios Florida, with Harry dead?
2. I think Snape will die, but other than that, I am just clueless! This is in fact a series written for children, can it be as sad as killing off Harry or one of his friends? I am hoping not.
3. Hogwarts will reopen.
4. I would hope they will end up together, but I just can't decide for sure.
5. I don't think Harry and Ginny will be together in the end.
6. Snape isn't really bad, but he may as well be, that jerk!
7. Landon thinks Dumbledore isn't really dead - the rise of the Pheonix. But I am not so sure.

1. Yes - Harry is going to die, I know we don’t want to believe it, but I think he will leave us...
2. Harry and Voldemort (and a Weasly, don’t know who)
3. Yes
4. Yes – such blissful love!!!
5. Yes – However, one or both may die trying to save the other.
6. Snape and Dumbledore are in Cahoots. Snape is good, but will also have to pay the ultimate price in the end. (Maybe by saving Ron, Hermoine, or Harry) This will show his true colors..
7. Mr. Weasly will defeat Lucius Malfoy and will also be appointed to a very important post at the ministry

1. No, Harry won't die. But I think his scar is a horcrux, and thus he won't be a wizard anymore either...hmmmm, something to think about.

2. Either Ron or Hermione, Severus Snape, and of course Lord Voldemort

3. Yes.

4. No, because one of them dies.

5. Yes.

6. He's a good guy with a bad attitude.

I can't wait to read this book!!!

Ooh, so many interesting theories. I've never thought of Harry as a horcrux before--very thought provoking indeed. But I'm thinking about how Dumbledore said that you have to get rid of all 6 horcruxes and THEN kill Voldemort. But if we got rid of Harry the horcrux, Harry would not himself be able to kill Voldemort, and from everything leading up to this point, I just have to think that it's gotta be Harry who takes him out. So what about this? You eliminate 5 horcruxes, and then kill Voldemort, and then that little bit of him remains in Harry, but that's OK because-as has been pointed out throughout the series--we all have a little of that evil in us (we mormons call it the natural man), and it's all about choosing theh good. So I'm thinking Harry can be a horcrux, and can kill Voldemort, and can live, choosing to be good as he has always done. What do you think?!

let me know if you need a pattern (or a sewing machine...wait do you sew?). I have two really cute ones.

As for the trivia. I don't know about all the questions but I think that Neville Longbottom is going to get the ax. I guess I will see tomorrow.

Wow, I'm surprised no one is commenting here now that some have probably read the book.

I liked it.

well I know that this is an old post but I just wanted to say hi and that I hope you are having a great time in Oregon (of course you are...how could you not?). And that I was thinking of you on Tuesday. Hug a tree for me.
