Celebrating

Life is so busy, isn't it? I will spare you a whole post about the busy-ness of washing my dishes, caring for a babe with a cough from hades, "educating" freshmen boys about the against-the-rules-ness of snowball throwing while they are hitting on their pregnant hall advisor (me), decorating for Christmas, driving Gram to the doctor, and on and on. Not that I don't love these little every day parts of life, but one can only write so much about them. Look, I've already written a whole long, boring paragraph about them.

It's a little more fun to be busy when you are celebrating.

Celebrating things like a cousin's wedding. (Why do I not have a single pic of the bride and groom?!)

Celebrating this beautiful getaway car. I'm all about a cutely decorated wedding car. It's a preemptive strike so no one can trash your vehicle. Don't even get me started on how much I detest it when people desecrate a getaway car. It makes my insides boil.

Celebrating a reception dinner at a place that serves dessert like this. And where there are 3 attendants for every table, so they can re-fold my napkin every time I get up.
Celebrating an un-official family reunion where I got to be with all of my Cropper sisters.

Celebrating cousin Helen (or should I say, "Janice Pentowski," my Bye Bye Birdie co-star?!)
(Dear Joan, how on earth did I leave AZ without a pic of the two of us? That is absurd. P.S. I think we left a sippy cup in your dishwasher. But Blaine made off with an orange bouncy ball of Jimmie's. Even?)
(Dear Em, how on earth did I leave AZ without a pic of the two of us? I needed more time with you. I am still in mourning.)
(Dear readers, do you know that I've been friends with Em since age 13 and that we married cousins, making us related? And that Helen and I have been tight since our v-ball and Conrad Birdie days and that she is Tay's cousin, making us related? And that Joanie and I were college roomies and that she is Tay's cousin, making us related? Cool, huh?)

Celebrating 3 years with a man who would (and did) give his preggy wife a badly needed pedi without being asked. (Is that precision, or what?)
More impressive than the polish? He scrubbed my sick, nasty, calloused, dry, cracking, carpet-snagging heels until they were (almost) as smooth as his. In the words of Grandma Tillie, "Now, would you call that love? I did."

Celebrating Danielle's 27th birthday with french onion soup, an afternoon of shopping and jamba juice, a church Christmas dinner, a family wedding recepsh, and a gorge and delish (could I get any more abbreves in there?) cake made by you know who.

And celebrating the first snow of the season.

Very fun post! How did I go this long without knowing that Taylor and Nate are cousins? How fun! One of my friends and I married cousins too!

I know. I am in mourning about AZ, too. We should have had a spend over somewhere; I give pedis too, you know. We shall do better in Oregon, we shall. You look stunning in all of those pictures. And that dessert plate hurts my feelings (stupid flight-leaving-early.)

p.s. I really loved your thoughtful comment on my post yesterday -- good thoughts.

I found your flip flops this week! Have you already replaced them or should I stick them in the mail?

Well this is a very cute post and only you would abbreviate abbreviate. And I'm feeling pretty good that a picture of me made this post, which was full of so many gorgeous pictures of your young hot friends and family. Sorry we stayed so late that night -- we loved being with you and Danielle.

I was going to comment about all the abbreviations too, but you already did so...

Thanks again for the super fun birthday celebration. What a fun fun day! I am glad you came too Liz. That cake was just too good not to share!

The pedi pictures were adorable. I am envious. How do you train a husband to do that? :)
