Dear Mary,

You are the cutest woman I have ever met--sweet as candy. I couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect person to stop for me when I was sitting in our car with my sleeping toddler in the back, my calm husband jogging down the hill to find cell-phone reception, the back of my Honda lodged in a snow bank on the side of a cliff, and my whole little self shaking uncontrollably from cold (1%) and fear (99%). When you put your arm around me and felt me shake you told me it would be alright and reminded me that everyone was fine and that was the most important thing. I'll likely never see you again, but Mary, I just wanted to say thanks again. You were just what I needed.

Love,
Anne

Oh my gosh...what happened??? I was thinking about you traveling and knowing there was tons of snow!!! We got stuck in a snow bank on our way to Utah once in the middle of the night in a snowstorm and it was one of the scariest things ever! But I did not have toddler and I was not prego! I guess you are home safe now and that makes me happy. I need to call you!!

You didn't tell me her name was Mary. Sweet. So glad there was a pay-it-forward type in the neighborhood in your moment of panic. And of course, glad you're back safe and sound. No more wintery travel! (says Roger)
