So somewhere between folding laundry one night and running on the treadmill another night, I got sucked into this season of The Bachelor. And I know I'm not alone.
Any Bachelor fans out there? What did you think of the surprise ending? Which girl did you favor? Do you think it'll work out between Jason and Molly? How much of it (and reality TV in general) do you think is staged? Do you think DeAnna's last ploy was real? Could you believe that last hour?? Having to do a breakup on national TV??
And finally, here is what I have to say about The Bachelor. I think it is sick. I think it is sick that so many of those women leave after the first episode (after barely meeting him) and are so heart-broken. I feel so sad for them that their sense of self-worth seems to be based on all the wrong things. I think it is sick that the bachelor has emotionally and physically intimate relationships with multiple women. I think it is sick that America has no problem with that. (Side note: does anyone else find it ironic that it's OK for him to have such intimacy with multiple women but polygamy is not OK? Not that I advocate polygamy. Because I don't. I just find it ironic. Because to me, it's the same thing. End side note.) And most of all I think it's sick that people like me get sucked in. And also, I think the fact that only one couple after all these seasons has actually lasted, is a good indicator of just how "real" the show really is.

I watched it last night after not watching any of the rest of the season. This guy is nuts! I think he has some serious issues. And I think the show is absolutely ridiculous for all the reasons you stated. It grosses me out completely that he makes out with so many of the girls. I think they somehow all choose to forget that when they are with him.
It's a shame that he called it quits with Melissa after the "honeymoon phase" of their relationship ended. Buddy, that's not real life.
My heart is broken and my vocal chords are sore from screaming at the TV last night.
I'm not really sure, but it sure seems to me like a good 98% of those shows are staged.
All season long I was feeling bad for this heart broken guy of yester-season. Now, I chalk him up to one of those sleazy guys on a reality TV show. How cruel!!!
Jillian was TOTALLY the best. Hands down. When he sent her home I knew he was stupid.
The only thing that REALLY makes me sick about it is the over night dates. 3 women in 3 nights and then he lines them up and sends one home basically saying. "You weren't that good." Ewwww. Gross.
