Springy

My flowers are blooming!
See?

And the spring is making me feel extra cheery. (Em, I know you think Autumn is the best season, but really? Even better than this?! Did you see exhibit A:Hyacinth and exhibit B: Daff??) And I have put that cheery energy into making up silly games with Blaine, taking more walks, and finally hanging up some things in this blue house I have now lived in for almost a whole year!
About a year and a half ago I bought this paper on the right and was so obsessed with it. I wanted to wallpaper my whole life with it. But I couldn't find just the right purpose for it, and didn't want to waste it on the wrong thing. But then I got the idea from my latest Better Homes and Gardens (where I get 99% of my ideas) to frame it. Simple as that. I found some corresponding paper (on the left), made a mat out of cheap white cardstock, and used some old frames my mom had given me. I like how one is matted and the other is not. How's that for a two-dollar project? They're in my eating area and tickle me all day long.

Then Taylor brought some of the spring inside. How incredible is that gradient color on the inside of a daff?!
And holy cow, if you think that mantle is sweet (albeit simple), just wait until I unveil my Easter mantle tomorrow. You might faint for its cuteness.

p.s. Oh my gosh, I am suuuuuuuper impressed by how many of you got Flower Drum Song (see below)!! I guess it's not as obscure as I thought. Put your cupcake orders in now!

Are you kidding me?!! I just found your blog through my friend Brooke Rasmussen who posted about you, and lo and behold it is my Anne from college! I was thrilled, and Ryan will now be hearing about my discovery. :) Now, I am going to spend the day catching up on your life as a married person and a mommy. I can't wait! This just made me so happy.

Love the pictures on the wall. Perfect.

I only have three daffodils still blooming, but some tulips on the way. Every fall I think that it is my favorite season, and then spring rolls around and I think, "How can this NOT be my favorite season?! It IS!"

The pictures are so cute. I love the paper. I need to subscribe to Better and Homes and Gardens for some more ideas. Or maybe I will just steal them off your blog:)

So my daffodils and hyacinths are blooming. And covered with about three inches of snow. And I am not feeling springy! I'm a little bitter. Good thing I'm going on vacation next week -- can you order me some Medford sunshine?

Holding my breath for the mantle. Wishing we had flowers instead of snow. All in good time. All in good time.

Hope you don't mind a completed stranger making a post - but Katie can verify that I am no more a nutter than she is. Just wanted to say that I love your writing style. And loved the wallpaper pictures. Great idea and very well executed!!!

What an awesome idea on framing the wallpaper!!! I LOVE it! And you're right about that paper on the right...I could see myself doing the same thing what with working myself up to the point of anxiety attack, wondering where the perfect use would be. And now you can take it wherever you go! How cool. And how stylish!
