You've probably seen this before. It's Responsible Woman by James C. Christensen. It is hanging on the wall next to my tub, so I get to look at it a lot. Last night, as I reflected on one of the most defiant days Blaine has ever had, and the appalling way I dealt with it, I looked up at her and started to cry.
Take some time and look at her. Look at all the things she is carrying (balancing!), the determined look on her face, the light she holds high, and the babe tucked comfortably and protected by her hand.
I don't want to be the mom I was yesterday. Yelling and throwing my hands up in the air. I want to be this woman.

I need a copy of that picture up for me to look at everyday as well. The other day I had a moment where I was yelling and freaking out over everything. I felt so bad when I went to say my prayers, then gave Jayden a hug and apologized for not having the patience I should have had. Life throws some major things at you sometimes, and the best thing we can do is be determined... bear it all and be perfect... but we can't always, and it's something that we need to not beat ourselves up about. We're not perfect, even though we're striving to be.
Okay... that comment was a pep talk to myself LOL.
I love her red shoes. and I'm definitely going to try to be like her today too :)
Thanks for sharing. It's nice to know that other moms have bad days too.
