On the last night of Girls' Camp, we were treated to a fantabulous slide show, put together by Trina--our Camp Photographer. (We have a Camp Photographer! How great is that?!) We were all gathered at the amphitheater, and had just reveled in the girls' talents and hilariosity as they performed skongs (that's a hybrid of song and skit--I tell you what, our camp is seriously breaking new ground). We needed to wait until it was sufficiently dark to start the slide show, so what did we do? What else? A dance party! G's camp mixed with a dance party? Are you kidding me? Talk about Anne Marie Cropper's dream come true! I jumped up on that stage and found a groove that I haven't worked since college and ohh... it was glorious. The girls were dying about it--they couldn't believe they were watching one of their leaders channel her inner Britney. One girls looked me up and down and said, "Leaders aren't supposed to be able to move like that."My explanation? "Girls, I have been watching a lot of So You Think You Can Dance!" (And no joke, it has totally made me want to dance again. It's been too long. I've been googling "Hip hop classes in Southern Oregon," but it's all for kids. Can you just see me in Hip Hop class with a bunch of 12-year-olds? Awe-some!)
Anybody else? Taylor and I are totally obsessed this season. Your thoughts? Favorites? My favorite was Janette, and I am beyond bugged that she got kicked off. Come on, you know she was amazingly technically and hands-down the best performer. I love Evan, but honestly can't believe he made it this far. Ade is the man and I think he should take the whole thing. Kayla is AMAZING, but I don't love her as much as I used to. I think she lacks a little in the performance arena. Any fans out there? What do you think?
And finally. Bec, are you reading this? Because Taylor and I are challenging you and Marcus to a dance-off. That's right. August 2009 Cropper Family SYTYCD. You better bring it.

OOOOO MMMMMM GGGGGG, are you freakin' kidding me? You are ON Anne! I am laughing so hard right now....I can not wait. You better be worried, Marcus has some serious moves, and I have already beyond perfected the "leg split, head back move"

And I was sad to see Janette go too. I love Melissa, but lets face it, the breast cancer dance (which I LOVED and shed a tear in) totally saved her.
Oh, and PS, on the SYTYCD website, all the dancers teach thier "signature move"...I am totally practicing... so look out. he he hee...and by the way, in reality I know your dance moves far surpass mine, but its fun to think I am really in the running!

I love Janene and Ade the best. But I do say that Janette was probably technically the best! I just think Janene is gorgeous!
That show is awesome and I am not even a dancer! Love it!
Once again my dear Anne we are in sync with our t.v. obsessions. I am still behind so I had to skim your blog so as to not spoil what I have Tivo'd. I will look forward to reminiscing with you once the season is over. And as far as I'm concerned the only thing good about this season coming to a close is that there will be another one in the Fall...and that's just Buck!!!!
Oh we love that show. Last season Trav would always be like, "hey I think your dance show is on...I know you want to watch it...its Ok, we can watch it...I know you want to." He totally loves it too. And it totally makes me want to take a dance class too.
Becca, I have to warn you that Anne's GC moves have come up in more than one conversation since camp! Look out!
You kill me, I want to see these camp moves, because in my head they look pretty darn good! I miss you friend, let's playdate soon!
