So, it's Tuesday.

{I am a huge Alexis Bledel fan. I think she is so, so beautiful.}

Would you believe I got an allergic reaction to antibiotic #1, which was a terribly itchy, sleep depriving disaster (who gets rashes on the soles of her feet?)?

I'm on antibiotic #2 now, finally feeling good again, after the strep came back.

It's astounding how much physical well-being affects mental well-being. When I feel that terrible I sit on my ugly blue and white chair and look at the Chernobyl all around me and feel a pathetic mixture of apathy and hopelessness. I wonder what I'm thinking having another baby and when will I stop wanting to throw up and how do people with really serious health problems face each day?

And then I read the Book of Mormon and am humbled:
"Humble yourselves even to the dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and that ye live in thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you.... I would exhort you to have patience, and that ye bear with all manner of of afflictions." (Alma 34:38, 40)

I feel a lot better today. And ever grateful for the reminders of mortality. And what we're supposed to learn from it. I'm someone who has felt 100% great for most of her life. It's humbling to realize how generally healthy I am, and that I need to be more grateful for good days and more patient on bad days.

I've been thinking a lot about baby #4. A lot. And I have a whole dissertation brewing on its possible gender (one of only two possibilities, right?). Hopefully I can write that tonight or tomorrow. Right now I need to get back to Chernobyl.

But first, this.

It's Tuesday.

Shall we?

When I can't sleep at night or need to sit down and feed the babe a bottle before his nap, I watch Gilmore Girls re-runs. It's my favorite show of all time.

1.Are you a GG fan?
2.Do you know Alexis Bledel's given name?
3. Do you know what her career was before acting?
4. The last time I saw her, she was guest-starring in the series finale of another of my favorite shows. Do you know which show?
5. Do you watch Lauren Graham in Parenthood (my latest favorite show)?
6. Do you like 'Coach' as Zeke Braverman on Parenthood? Do you know what holiday movie he plays the dad in that I absolutely love that features the lovely Claire Danes as one of the most adorable characters ever?
7. Did you follow Gilmore Girls to the end? What did you think of the way things turned out? I was devastated about Rory and Logan. And I used to be mad about Lorelai ditching Chris, but now that I'm watching the last season again, I decided it's better that she ends up with Luke. Chris is too jealous, too impulsive. I still find Luke too gruff, but I see the appeal more than I used to.

And that's a Trivial Tuesday.

Awesome scripture. It really is incredible how perfectly blessed we are and how painfully ignorant we are at the same time. As much as we want to say we deeply understand and appreciate the bounty of blessings in our lives, I don't think we really do. I don't know if we even can, you know?
We are healthy, we have healthy, happy, stable families, comfortable homes, education, healthy food, we are generally safe...the list goes on and on. Life is so, so good.

And I'm boring...I don't know anything about GG :/

Can we still be friends? ;)

I don't know the answer to any of those questions since I generally don't watch much tv, but Gilmore Girls is one of the shows that I watched from start to finish. Loved it! And I have to say that I always loved Luke, so I was happy that they ended up together. I was sad about Rory though. Anyway, thanks for the scripture also! I needed that today.

Hey, this is Katie Ollmann, you know, previous HA at Chipman at BYU. I love your blog, hopefully you don't fine me following it. Anyway, I love Gilmore girls. and your entire post I totally relate to. First, I also know how it is to have physical hardship recently. I think most people do. For me, it was being pregnant with twins, bedrest for six weeks, and giving birth to them. Now we have added to our 18 month old son, and we now have three boys. I am thankful for the difficult experience so that we could have our twin baby boys. Children are such a blessing. No way to even describe it, you know what I am talking about. So during those six weeks on bedrest, I watched seasons 1-3 of GG. Loved it. I don't know how the rest of the seasons go, but thanks to your post I know Lorelai ends up with Luke which is what I always wanted.

Congrats on baby #4! :)

3. Nope
4. shoot I feel like I should know this but I don't.
5. YES! Mark and I LOVE this show!!! One of the only ones we watch these days.
6. I love Zeke, I have a hard time with Camille but I LOVE Zeke. And i love The Family Stone. Claire is amazing in it.
7. Surprisingly no, I think I got close but it lost my interest toward the end.
Glad you are feeling better. :) I love your posts about your struggles. I always find comfort in your words. Wish you didn't have them but I guess I'm glad you do because when you share them it helps me get through mine!
love you!

I love Gilmore Girls! I stopped watching when I was at BYU... but then one year when William was little I borrowed all the DVDs and caught up... just in time for the last season. I always always loved Luke and would have been sad if he didn't end up with Lorelei.

I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Love you. Yay trivial Tuesday!
1. Totally geeky addict -- own the entire series and watch it every year or two.
2. Nope.
3. and no
4. ER
5. Sadly, no Parenthood in Chile -- is it good enough that I need to purchase?
6. Family Stone -- like it
7. I was glad she didn't pick Logan, even though it seemed shocking at the time. He represented everything Lorelai didn't want for Rory. I liked him, but also didn't like him. (If you need a little Matt Czuchry fix, you should be watching The Good Wife.) And I love Luke and Lorelai. A wedding finale would have been dreamy (but cheesy).

The thing that really annoyed me me about the ending was how Lorelei lied to Rory about her feelings fro Luke. I think if she had been honest, maybe Rory would have ended up with Logan (which I was really really hoping for). Is it sad that it's so many years later and I'm still upset! It's funny that Liz mentioned The Good Wife, because in my head it's just Rory a few years later, all grown up! I also do that with Noel from Felicity!!!

And by "Rory" I meant Logan. It's clearly far to early for me to be typing!

Oh Anne,
Sometimes I read your blog and I think, forget this whole country hopping foreign service life, can I just move next door to your blue house? I especially thought that after this post because I also love Gilmore Girls and am obsessed with Parenthood. (When Adam and Kristina finally made up after their several episode long fight I felt this huge weight off my shoulders. Also I dream about the Bravermans sometimes). Here's a little known fact for you- Hayden Fox? A Spokanite. That's right, there is a lot more awesomeness from that fine metropolis than just John Stockton. Also I just waited five minutes to load the one minute Target commercial that you linked to in your last post because our internet is so pathetic, but it was totally worth it. Good job Target ad developers.

Remember when you used to like Christopher better and I liked Luke better? Last time I watched the series I was kind of thinking maybe I liked chris better instead so it's funny that you switched too.
