There was a birthday dinner at Benihana. A quick trip to Dallas (where Henry and Blaine built a ship and packed every earthly thing onboard). It was hot hot hot, so we swam, swam, swam. There were two trips to el mercado. (Just like the markets in my Guadalajara, only air conditioned.) All my shopping-in-a-big-city dreams came true. We snuggled 4 on a bed to watch So You Think You Can Dance and Wipeout. There was good food galore--including good ol' Texas BBQ. We paid homage to Davy Crockett at the Alamo. We ate the best dang guac on the RiverWalk. We got to hang with my sister-cousin. There was a Sunday drive to my birthplace--Old BAMC (Brooke Army Medical Center) at Fort Sam Houston--and the home I spent my infancy in. Our children bonded. We laughed our guts out. We soaked up the sun and the love. See for yourself.
